Course Information
This course is designed for Potential Driving Instructors (PDIs) who are working towards the final stage of the ADI qualification process, The Part 3 Test of Instructional Ability. The focus of this session is to help you prepare thoroughly, refine your teaching skills, and understand exactly what the examiner will be looking for on the day of your test. By building your knowledge and confidence, this course aims to maximise your chances of success and help you achieve the best possible score.
What the Course Covers
During this session, you will gain:
- A full overview of the Part 3 test format, structure and marking criteria.
- Guidance on how to prepare effectively in the weeks leading up to your test.
- Insight into what examiners expect from you and your pupil during the assessment.
- Practical advice on managing nerves, planning your lesson, and demonstrating key competencies.
- An understanding of the most common reasons PDIs receive lower scores or fail and how to avoid these mistakes.
- A look ahead at how your Part 3 preparation can support you when it comes to your first Standards Check once you qualify as an ADI.

Your Instructor
The session is delivered by a Grade A Approved Driving Instructor with many years of experience coaching trainee instructors. Their supportive approach and practical expertise will give you the tools you need to approach the Part 3 test with confidence and professionalism.

Amending or cancelling your course
You can easily amend or cancel your course once it has been booked. Please call us on 0330 111 7230 or email info@greenpenny.co.uk to do this. Please ensure you give enough notice to amend or cancel – you must give at least 4 clear working days notice so that you don’t lose your fee (working days = Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays. 4 clear working days, does not include the day you inform us you would like to cancel or the date of the course).
If you have already attended the full course, or part of the course, then no cancellation or change of date is possible and no refund will be due. If you fail to attend a course or test on the date you have booked, or you arrive late, no refund or date change will be available.
